EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT / OFFICE MANAGER
Gay Walker has built an impressive and diverse career in the transportation industry, spanning over three decades. Her journey began in 1992 with TDCJ, where she first honed her skills as a dispatcher in the control tower. With a deep passion for transportation, Gay transitioned into driving chain buses, a role she excelled in for nine years. Her hands-on experience in both dispatch and driving provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the operations and logistics behind successful transportation management.
After retiring from TDCJ in February 2017, Gay brought her extensive knowledge and dedication to GCTD in August of the same year. She began her tenure as a driver, quickly demonstrating her commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service. Her exceptional work ethic and leadership abilities did not go unnoticed, and within a short time, Gay transitioned into a dispatch role, where she continued to make a significant impact.
Gay’s talent for managing operations and leading teams earned her a promotion to Transportation Manager, a role in which she further developed her strategic and organizational skills. Her ability to streamline processes and improve department performance made her an invaluable asset to the organization. In recognition of her achievements and leadership potential, Gay was promoted to Executive Assistant, where she now serves as the Executive Assistant/Office Manager at GCTD.
In her current role, Gay continues to be an integral part of the team, contributing to the overall success of GCTD through her strong leadership, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to the organization’s mission. Her career trajectory is a testament to her perseverance, adaptability, and passion for the transportation field.
