ADA Nondiscrimination Statement
Gulf Coast Transit District (GCTD) operates its services in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. GCTD does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the provision of transportation services, programs, or activities. GCTD complies with 49 CFR Parts 27, 37, and 38 and applicable FTA guidance.

ADA complaints should first be filed with GCTD to allow for local resolution whenever possible.

GCTD will receive, log, investigate, and respond to ADA complaints in accordance with federal requirements. Complaints must be filed within 180 days of the alleged incident.
GCTD will respond to all complaints within 10 days, and will provide a preliminary investigation and response within 30 days. GCTD will have available the complete report by 60 days.

Service Animals
Service animals are permitted on all GCTD services. Service animals must remain under control of the handler at all times. No additional fare or fee will be charged.
Priority Seating
Priority seating is designated near vehicle entrances for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Passengers must yield these seats when requested by an eligible rider or operator.
Wheelchair and Mobility Devices
GCTD accommodates mobility devices up to 30 inches by 48 inches and 800 pounds lift capacity. Riders are not required to transfer from their mobility device. Service will not be denied unless safe transportation cannot be provided due to equipment or safety limitations.
Respiratory Equipment
Passengers may travel with portable oxygen, respirators, and concentrators. Devices must remain under the passenger’s control and must not block aisles or exits. No additional fees apply.
Accessible Information
GCTD provides information in accessible formats upon request, including large print, audio, and electronic formats compatible with assistive technology. Language assistance and auxiliary aids are provided free of charge.
Reasonable Modifications
GCTD will make reasonable modifications to policies, practices, and procedures when necessary to ensure access to services for individuals with disabilities, unless doing so would fundamentally alter service or create a safety risk. Requests may be made in advance or at the time of service when feasible.
